Product Details

Auro-Abacavir/Lamivudine 600mg/300mg is a combination medication used in the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. It contains two antiretroviral drugs:

  1. Abacavir(600mg) - A nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) that helps prevent the replication of HIV by inhibiting an enzyme necessary for the virus to reproduce.
  2. Lamivudine(300mg) - Also an NRTI, it works similarly to abacavir by blocking the reverse transcriptase enzyme, thereby reducing the viral load and helping to manage HIV infection.

The combination of these two drugs is used to help control the progression of HIV by reducing the amount of virus in the body, which helps to maintain immune system function and prevent the development of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

Typically, this medication is taken once daily, as prescribed by a healthcare provider. Adherence to the prescribed regimen is crucial for effectiveness, and regular follow-up is necessary to monitor for potential side effects and to ensure the treatment is working as intended. Common side effects may include nausea, headache, and fatigue.
