Altace Caps 10mg contains the active ingredient ramipril, which is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It is primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack. Ramipril works by relaxing blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing the strain on the heart.

In addition to lowering blood pressure, Altace can also be used to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other heart-related complications in certain high-risk patients. The 10mg capsule is usually taken once daily, but the dosage can vary based on the individual's condition and response to treatment. As with all ACE inhibitors, it is important to follow the prescribing doctor's instructions closely and to monitor blood pressure regularly while taking Altace.
