Product Details

Alesse Compact TB 28 is a type of combined oral contraceptive pill (birth control pill) that contains two hormones: ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen) and levonorgestrel (a progestin). These hormones work together to prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation (the release of an egg), thickening cervical mucus to block sperm from reaching an egg, and changing the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation of a fertilized egg.

The "28" indicates that this pack contains 28 tablets: 21 active pills that contain the hormones, followed by 7 inactive (placebo) pills. These placebo pills are taken during the last week of the cycle, allowing for a withdrawal bleed similar to a period while maintaining the habit of taking a pill every day. The "Compact" refers to the small, portable packaging, making it convenient to carry and use daily.
